Nature’s Best Hope Ashford Conservation Commission w Pollinator Pathways
In our program focusing on the book Nature’s Best Hope by Doug Tallamy (there is BOTH a child version and an adult version)the Ashford Conservation Commission and experts of the Pollinator Pathway will discuss actions homeowners can take to attract beneficial insects and birds to visit your yard.
If one is feeling discouraged in a time of increasingly bad news regarding climate change and decreasing bird populations and pollinator species… this book offers hope and practical actions. Among other topics, the Conservation Commission will talk about yard size conservation, why non-native species are harmful, and the importance of insects to the rest of the food web.
Family activities will related to seeds and planting will be available. The pollinators pathways group will have seeds available and handouts to take home.
The library has multiple copies of both the adult and children’s editions for people to check out before or after the program.
