Pysanka Ukrainian Egg Workshop – REGISTRATION FULL

Pysanka Ukrainian Egg Workshop – REGISTRATION FULL

REGISTRATION FULL – Please call to be placed on the waiting list.

Pysanka is a Ukrainian decorative egg, created by using a wax batik method. Beeswax is mixed with soot and melted. A stylus is used to ‘write’ or make designs and symbols on the egg. Color is added by dipping the egg. Once the last dark color is used, the wax is melted over a flame and wiped away to reveal the colorful design underneath.

Learn about this folk art form and create your own beautiful egg in this hands-on workshop. All materials (including eggs) will be provided. The workshop will be run by the ‘Egg Lady’, Sharon Leonard. Sharon brings over 30 years of experience to this Ukrainian folk-art.

This program will be held in Knowlton Memorial Hall on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Registration is limited to 20 people, aged 8 to adult, so pre-registration is required (no later than March 12th, 2024) by calling phone 860-487-4420 or at this link:

The Y Knots! The Babcock Library - Ashford, CT has added more copies of The Y Knots to our collection!Authored by the Jasmin family of Ashford, CT (here!) this delightful family of four is split into two distinct pairs: those who ask “why” and those whose antics generate the question. The younger Ys spend much of their days creating the most amazing adventures at home by using their powers of imagination. With nothing more than the household items surrounding them, a simple room can be transformed into a seaworthy pirate ship, a hands-in-the-air rock concert, or even an underwater exploration. The older Ys struggle to understand the reasoning behind the little Ys’ massive messes, often creating knots in their plans, but they soon begin to catch on and play along too.Reserve your copy today @ 860-487-4420 😀 ...
