E-Book News

The cost of e-books for libraries is enormous.

For those interested in the ongoing challenges to the pricing model that all the e-book providers currently demand please read the following articles. These articles help to explain why obtaining e-books may mean a long hold or the books simply are not available after a certain amount of time.

This Saturday! 10 a.m. at Babcock Library - Ashford, CTPoetry Reading with Dr. Daniel DonaghyFeaturing distinguished Connecticut poet Dr. Daniel Donaghy, with special guests Ashford's Poet Laureate Anthony Paticchio, plus local Ashford writers Sue Calkins, Deb Gag, Marian Matthews, and Eastern University graduating senior Noeliany Cosme. Daniel Donaghy is an accomplished poet and scholar of twentieth-century literature and culture. He has a Ph.D. in English from the University of Rochester, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Poetry) from Cornell University, an M.A. in English from Hollins College (now University), and a B.A. in English from Kutztown University. He has received Eastern’s Board of Regents Teaching Award and its CSU Norton Mezvinsky Trustees Research Award.
