DESCRIPTION:Babcock Library provides this invitation in support of the Ashford Clean Energy Task Force & Conservation Commissions.\nThe Ashford Clean Energy Task Force and Conservation Commission \ninvite you to:\nEARTH 2024 A film about our planet\nFriday, April 19th, 7:00 P.M. at Knowlton Memorial Hall\n&\nAshford Road Cleanup Saturday, April 20th – Meet at 8:45-9 A.M. at the Babcock Library Parking Lot\n \nPlease invite your friends and family. The presentation is suitable for teens and adults.\nEARTH 2024 A film about our planet\nDescription from the event presenter Ken Wolslegel:\n“Earth 2024 is not a film.  It is a multimedia presentation (like a slideshow, but much more).  Some have referred to it as a “live documentary”.  It has some video and image transitions that move in creative ways.  The imagery is accompanied by a music soundtrack while I provide live narration.\nWe are a quarter of the way into the 21st Century, and a health check-up on our planet is overdue.  Earth 2024 (E24) is that check-up, in the form of an original 65-minute multimedia presentation, with compelling imagery, an accompanying soundtrack, and live narration that takes a sweeping look at man’s 2.5 million year evolutionary journey and the inadvertent peril our modern lifestyles have created here on earth.  As the planet’s population closes in on 10 billion, these perils and the actions we take (or do not take) today will determine man’s future.  E24 takes a sobering look at what is happening right now to the three foundations of life on Earth: biodiversity, the oceans, and our planet’s changing climate.  The impacts already happening to our economy, public health, food security, and national security are put in plain sight.  E24 then looks to the future, and what we need to do to keep these foundations intact.”\nPlease see Ken Wolslegel’s website: https://www.earth21stcentury.com ( https://www.earth21stcentury.com ) for more information.\nMaterials for the roadside cleanup will be available at the presentation.\nThe ACETF thanks you for your interest in our work and welcomes your input.\nIf you have questions, concerns, or comments, please contact Susan Eastwood at sceaswood@yahoo.com\n
